Social Networking tools have been increasing from day to day. To create online learning communities, there are many tools or sites can be used. Most of the sites are being provided free of charge and its only need to register as member. The following are the top 10 sites for teachers.

Ning provides educators  with  strong and powerful personal learning networks where they can meet up with other like-minded teachers and expand their professional networks. I personally use it to keep track of the latest articles in educational technology and also to interact with my colleagues and share my own resources with them. There are several Ning groups that are really indispensable for teachers and that I am pretty sure will be of great help to your professional development.

Curriculum 21 is the outgrowth of the work of a dynamic group of educators worldwide attempting to help colleagues transform curriculum and school designs to match the needs of 21st century learners. The impetus originated from the Curriculum Mapping work developed by Dr. Heidi Hayes Jacobs. As we examined maps emerging across the United States and internationally.  Too often, curriculum and instruction remains dated although both students, parents, teachers and administrators recognize the need to become current and forward thinking in our planning.

This is an online social community for those interested in global education. This group,s as its name suggests, is devoted to everything that has to do with the teaching and learning using smart board.  It is very useful to share ideas, tips, and lesson files and collaborate to maximize our students' learning.

Another great platform to meet new like minded educators and share learning and teaching resources. All teachers and advocates of education worldwide who share our philosophy and values are intrinsically part of our organization and can take the role of either facilitator or participant. The majority of participants of our projects (teacher/education development workshops) have been educators but may also include: community workers, NGO employees, government employees, student leaders, etc. Facilitators of projects are certified educators but may also include trained professionals in various fields.
